Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today claimed that Mission Kakatiya project was a huge success as the lakes are witnessing full tank level in the rainy season. Harish accused the Centre of showing partisan attitude towards Telangana State on development. He also alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was deceiving Telangana State despite repeated pleas for projects and appeals for development.
He was participating in a massive plantation program of planting one lakh saplings at Narsampet in Warangal district under Harithaharam project along with Ministers Jogu Ramanna and Padma Rao Goud.
Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao slammed Telangana BJP president G Kishen Reddy for his comments on the irrigation projects. Kishen should clarify whether he will go with TD, a traitors’ party or go with people for Telangana development, he asked. The Opposition leaders are behaving like blind people despite having eyes, he fumed. They must visit the lakes that are full with abundant waters and then talk on the lakes restoration program, Harish said. Kishen Reddy, he said, should make a national capital trip to impress upon the Centre to get all support for Telangana development instead of his proposed tour to visit the irrigation projects.
Harithaharam CM’s brainchild: Jogu
The minister Jogu Ramanna claimed that Harithaharam is the biggest project in the world and is a brainchild of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He appreciated the officials for their efforts to plant one lakh of saplings on the occasion. As many 35 types of plants are grown in about 4100 nurseries across the State, he maintained. He exhorted the leaders and officials to encourage plantation to eradicate pollution and get better atmosphere. (NSS)
