New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday conveyed Eid greetings to various leaders in India’s immediate and extended neighbourhood, including his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, “The Prime Minister made greeting phone calls to King Salman of Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince of UAE Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Iran President Hassan Rouhani, Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Maldives President Abdulla Yameen.”
Prime Minister Modi also wished his Pakistani counterpart speedy recovery after the cardiac surgery.
Before the surgery in May, Prime Minister Sharif had telephoned his Indian counterpart to thank him for his wishes for a quick recovery.
Prime Minister Sharif has been recovering after a successful open heart surgery in a London hospital. (ANI)
