Belagavi (Ktaka): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today hit out at the Modi government and accused it of “betraying” the countrymen with its false promises.
Addressing a party rally here at which Rahul Gandhi was also present, Siddaramaiah alleged the countrymens hopes during the 2014 Lok Sabha polls were belied and Modi did not fulfil the promise to deposit Rs 15 lakh into every individuals account out of the recovered black money stashed abroad.
“It will not be wrong to say that Modi betrayed the people of the nation who went by his words,” he said.
The economy of the country had totally collapsed under Modis government, he claimed.
Siddaramaiah also said the Modi Government should waive the loans of farmers to the tune of 50 percent and the state government will share an equal burden, due to consecutive drought faced by the state.
The state has suffered a crop loss of Rs 25,000 crore and 139 taluks were reeling under drought, he said.
“We have fulfilled almost all promises we made during the previous Assembly elections in 2013 and hence we will come to power in the state,” he added.
