Modi to address farmers’ rally in Delhi on April 11

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a meeting of farmers in Delhi on April 11 to highlight his government’s initiatives for them.

BJP Kisan morcha’s chief Vijaypal Singh Tomar said the farmers’ meet will be inaugurated by BJP President Amit Shah.

Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and his deputy Sanjeev Baliyan will also address the meet.

The party had organised such farmers’ rallies in Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Karnataka in February.

Tomar said the government has decided to help double the income of farmers by 2022 and the Union budget this year has also put focus on pro-farmer schemes and maximum thrust on the farm sector.

The party’s Kisan morcha is also touting the new crop insurance scheme of the NDA government as a “historic step”.
