Hyderabad, December 18: The intention of Government to provide better medical facilities to the people can be tested by seeing the conditions of Government hospitals. If the Government Maternity Hospital at Petla Burj is inspected, it will be noticed that it is not less than a human storage or godown.
Pregnant women and newly born babies are laid in an unsympathetic way as if they are the rubbish or scraps.
It is very surprising that the hospital constructed after incurring expenditure of Crores of rupees, presents a shabby picture. On one bed two women have been lied along with their young ones. The attendants of the patients have to sleep on the floor. Security is so tight that even media persons are not allowed to visit.
Many women come from districts for their delivery but beds are not sufficient. Government should take care to improve its functioning.
