Modern Headquarters for City Police in Banjara Hills to be constructed

In order to transform Hyderabad into a global city and also to strengthen Hyderabad City Police Govt. of Telangana has taken a serious step to construct a modern headquarters for Hyderabad City Police at Road number 12 Banjara Hills on a 6 acres police land. It will be the Headquarters of Commissioner of Police. It will have a well equipped Command and Control Room with many Emergency Response Systems for Mega City Policing. It will be fitted with CCTV, Cameras, Wireless System, Traffic Management and Audio – Video Conference Center. It will coordinate Fire Department, Ambulance Service, Commando team, Quick Response Team, City Disaster Response Unit and the Traffic Control teams. A Helicopter base will also be constructed on the roof of the building so as to facilitate police officers to use helicopter in emergency situations. Govt. has constituted a high power committee under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary. DGP of Telangana State, Commissioners of Police of Hyderabad and Cyberabad will be its members. This committee has been given instructions to complete the project and to review its progress periodically. Another high-level committee has been constituted to connect the offices of the commissioners of Hyderabad and Cyberabad using CCTV Surveillance System on the models of New York and London. The Chairperson of this committee is also the Chief Secretary whereas the MD of Hyderabad Metro Rail, Commissioners of Police of Hyderabad and Cyberabad and Commissioner of GHMC will be its members.
