Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma today inaugurated a newly-built Model Police Station at Abids here.
Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Sharma said police officials of all the States in the country were appreciating the people-friendly services of the Telangana police personnel. He also disclosed that more model police stations will be arranged all over the State in the near future. The DIG said the Police department was trying to modernize police stations as part of the Friendly Policing scheme. In the first phase of the program, radical changes will be brought about in all the police stations under Hyderabad and Cyberabad police commissionerates, he said.
The DGP also disclosed that the State government has granted Rs 20 crore to Hyderabad for construction of model police station, Rs 45 crore for Cyberabad. Besides, the government sanctioned Rs 58.5 crore for purchase of CC cameras for Hyderabad and Rs 25 crore for Cyberabad. He said they also introduced Cashless Challan, e-challan, Body Warn cameras in the city in order to prevent bad name to the Traffic Police personnel.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Mahendar Reddy and several other higher police officials were present at the function. (NSS)
