Model held for robbery in Mumbai

Mumbai, August 03: A 24-year-old model, Tarun Kapoor, was arrested by the Andheri police on Monday for robbing travellers after flying in two of his aides from another city. After conducting the robbery, the aides would fly back with the loot and would later share it equally.

A native of Delhi, Tarun had come to Mumbai a few years ago and stayed in a rented flat at Oshiwara.

On Sunday, Kapoor and his aides targeted an MBA student, Sanjeev Kumar, who had come to the city to look for a job. Kumar was travelling in an auto around 1.30 am. Kapoor’s aides tailed him in another auto and tried to snatch his gold chain. But Sanjeev put up a struggle. The duo then attacked Sanjeev with a chopper and fled in Tarun’s car. The auto driver later approached the police. The cops recovered an air ticket from the autorickshaw, which had been booked by a travel agent from Lokhandwala. The police subsequently questioned the agent who led them to Tarun.
