Mobily named best telecom firm

Riyadh June 14: Mobily has been named as the best telecommunications company in Saudi Arabia for the year 2011 by business monthly magazine Arabian Business.

The award was conferred on Mobily based on its phenomenal profitability, runaway popularity and huge traffic on its state-of-the-art broadband network, all of which made Mobily the region’s undisputed sector leader.
Mobily posted a 40 percent increase in net profit in the first quarter of the 2011, compared with the same quarter of previous year, surpassing the expectations of analysts. Moreover, Mobily signed a contract in February to build the biggest and largest G4network in the region through its subsidiary company Bayanat Alola.

Homoud Al-Ghobaini, Vice President for Communication and Public Relations, who received the award on behalf of Mobily, said the award was the culmination of the strategic plans and projects pursued by the company in the telecommunications sector in addition to a number of products and services offered by the company.

“All the successes that we are achieving day after day would not have been achieved without the grace of God, and the efforts of Mobily’s employees, as well as our strong infrastructure, which contributed to gaining the trust of millions of Mobily subscribers , and thus enable the company to provide leading services that enrich the lives of its subscribers,” Ghobaini said.
He further said the new strategy announced by Mobily last year will supplement further achievements of international recognitions based on strength – from the careful reading of the future of communications in the region to compatibility with the global trend for both broadband, fixed and mobile sections.

The 11th honorary ceremony held at Alfaisaliah hotel in Riyadh, was attended by more than 250 businessmen and senior executives.
