Pointing out the yawning gap between today’s children and elders, superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee says he was speechless when parents of a child told him at a reality show to admonish the young ‘Bumba-uncle’ fan for tinkering with mobile applications.
“I remember Trishanjit (son) is hooked to laptop and doesn’t seem to hear at times what we are asking him to do when he is at home during vacations.
“When Arpita (Prosenjit’s actor-singer wife) scolded him as we went to his place in Mumbai boarding I explained to her today’s kids are more gadget savvy, net savvy and know how to do the deft balancing,” the Hanuman.Com actor told PTI here.
Prosenjit was referring to the tagline of the film, about the world getting smaller and smaller through the eyes of school teacher-turned soothsayer Anjaniputra, the mythological Hanuman who bridged the two shores and led His army.
“It is better to talk to the children in their language, dialect, but not try to thrust things on them, I told the couple in the show. I have fond memories of children and their parents, with whom I interacted in the show, but this one I will never forget. So much topical and yet so universal, as we all parents more and less face the same situation almost, ” the ‘Chalo Paltai’ actor said.
Prosenjit, whose Anjaniputra is a humble, self-contented school teacher travelling to his work place from home on a modest two-wheeler for years until he buys a desktop and gets to know the other world and ends up visiting Iceland, says he finds it more exhausting to etch out common place characters.
“When we landed at Reykjavik airport I remember one airport crew commented on my little lost look and unkempt dress as I had already started preparing myself to get into the skin of the character,” he said.
