When the law and order situation in the city is tense, people march towards Makkah Masjid, but today, the mob at Makkah Masjid didn’t assemble because they were inquisitive about the situation but they reached there for show of strength. They were invited through SMS to reach Makkah Masjid to exhibit the strength of the community.
Many citizens got SMS messages in which a reference was given about their religious faith to reach Makkah Masjid for showing their strength. In order to spread this kind of invitation, help was taken from social media. Many youths received messages on their cell phones from unknown telephone number in which they were requested to express their show of strength after the Friday prayer at Makkah Masjid. Police is also aware of this SMS campaign.
The action taken by the police yesterday worried the public and they are cursing the people who spread SMS. Many youths responded to these SMS and gathered at Makkah Masjid. They were helpless and they became the victims of police. These youths demanded the Home Minister to find out those who sent the SMS and caused them to fall prey to police atrocities. Whosoever has sent these messages, has done it with an intention to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the city. As a result of it, many youths fell victims of the police. They were arrested by the police.
Some political leaders may make an attempt to get political mileage out of it in order to establish their leadership.
