MNS trying to woo Muslim youths

Mumbai, July 21: After trying to lure Dalits (lower caste Hindus), Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has now focused its attention on Muslim youths and is making all out efforts to woo them into the party’s fold.

After making a strong political foothold in the state by advocating the rights of Marathi youths and luring some religious organizations into its fold, the MSN is now trying to draw Muslim youths by exhibiting its sympathy toward them.

Focusing on Muslim youths, the party supremo Raj Thackeray said, “Don’t try to label the Maratha warrior Shivaji as belonging to a particular religion. Shivaji was known as a king of all communities. Apart from Hinduism and Islam, Shivaji recognized all religions,” he said.

Placing this kind of history, it appears that Raj and the MNS have decided to play the role of giving justice to all youths in the state, and after trying to draw Dalits it has now turned its attention to Muslims.

Last month on the occasion of the birthday of Raj, a meeting of prominent Ulema was held at the residence of the MNS supremo. The Ulema held the opinion that after experimenting with different political parties, they had no objection to test the MNS and see how it is different from other political parties in its behavior and attitude toward the Muslim community.
