MNS to replace poor performers: Raj Thackeray

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray today said from April, he would start replacing those party workers who did not perform well in the recent civic bodies elections. Addressing a news conference here, he said the party had learnt a number of lessons from the recent elections in Thane and Mumbai, and hence he had decided to replace those party workers who did not do well in the municipal corporation elections.

He said he would start the clean up operations in Thane and Mumbai from April. Asked about the support extended to the Shiv Sena-BJP-RPI in Thane Municipal Corporation, he said this arrangement was only for Thane city. As regards Nashik, the MNS chief said discussions were on there and pointed out that his party would come to power as it has got the clear mandate. ‘We will not fall prey to any pressures. If need be, we will sit in the opposition,’ he added. Talking about Pune, he said his corporators would sit in the opposition. UNI
