Hyderabad: Congress candidate from Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Wednesday said the defeat of the ruling TRS in the three MLC constituencies would be a slap on its face.
Speaking after meeting Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president Prof. Kodandaram at his residence here, Komatireddy alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi ruined the lives of common man with his whimsical moves like demonetization and imposition of GST. He also alleged that the Telangana State and Union governments had caused miserable problems to the farmers in the State and the country by increasing urea prices.
Komatireddy said Congress president Rahul Gandhi would strive for welfare of the poor after becoming Prime Minister. He also said the State would get a lot of funds from the Centre for development of Telangana State. He expressed his joy over the positive response of Prof. Kodandaram on extending support to him.
Prof. Kodandaram said his party has decided to extend support to the Congress candidates wherever it was not contesting in the elections. He also said a change of government at the Centre would help the infant Telangana State. Stating that the Congress was determined to introduce reforms in education and agriculture sectors, he said they would extend support to the party.
