MLC elections for 12 seats under MLA quota in Andhra Pradesh will be conducted on July 3, State Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal has said.
Press conference at his chamber, Bhanwar Lal stated that a notification will be issued on June 9 and results will be announced on July 7 followed by counting of the votes polled. Nominations will be accepted from June 9 to 16, scrutiny on 17 and withdrawals on 19 he said. He also said that transfers of the employees in seven districts should be done complying election norms. Vacant number of MLC seats district wise as follows– two each in Krishna, Vishakapatnam and Guntur and one each in Ananthapur, Chittoor, Prakasham, Vijayanagaram, East Godavari and Kurnool.
Referring to Revanth Reddy episode, he said that a report submitted by Telangana State ACB was sent to Central Election Commission. We have gone through the cash to vote case he added. (NSS)
