MLAs scramble behind Walia to be ‘caught on camera’

New Delhi, March 22: With budget day being one of the few days when TV cameras are allowed in the Delhi Assembly, ruling party MLAs were seen wanting to grab as much footage as possible.

Some MLAs like Niraj Basoya, Anil Chowdhary and Arvinder Singh Lovely, not the Minister but legislator from Deoli, sat directly behind Finance Minister A K Walia who was presenting the budget to ensure their space on TV.

However, their on air fame was short-lived as they had to beat a hasty retreat back to their designated seats after being told to do so by Speaker Yoganand Shastri.

The anomaly was of course brought to the notice of the Speaker by opposition BJP members who picked up the rule book to show that MLAs have to occupy only their designated seats.
