Hyderabad, January 31: Deputy Speaker of the state Assembly Nadendla Manohar on Sunday revealed that all the Members of the Legislative Assembly would be given laptops before the start of the Budget Session and also be trained to use their ‘gifts.’
Mr Manohar said that the MLAs would have to undergo a five-day training session on how to use a software preinstalled in the laptops. This software will help them focus on Constituency development, the Deputy Speaker said.
Speaking to media persons after paying rich floral tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at his statue on Assembly premises to mark his 63rd death anniversary, the Deputy Speaker said that the laptops would help keep the MLAs abreast of the issues to be solved in their constituencies.
He also said that if the Legislators have the data on their fingertips, they can answer questions raised during the session, thus saving time.
Apart from the laptops, the Legislators would also get a facsimile machine, a scanner and printer each. Mr Manohar said that the MLAs should use the especially developed software to feed in details of their constituencies before the session.
The Deputy Speaker also called upon all MLAs to use their laptops properly and address their constituency problems efficiently.
Minister for Major Industries J Geetha Reddy, Minister for Marketing and Warehousing Mukesh Goud and Minister for Labour Danam Nagender were present
