MLA’s driver Akbar killed as gun misfires at Hyderguda MLA quarters

Narsapur MLA Chilumula Madan Reddy’s driver Akbar died of gun shots as he mishandled a gun at Hyderguda MLA quarters here on Tuesday. The victim hails from Chowdarypally village in Mahbubnagar district and had been working for the MLA since 15 years in Medak district.

Akbar in his early 30s was reportedly curious to check the gun which the MLA’s gunman Ravinder kept it on the table. After preliminary inquiries, police concluded that the victim pulled the trigger accidentally and died on the spot as the shot was from a close range. However,  Akbar’s aunt, who was informed about the incident by the MLA’s men, alleged that there must be some foul play behind the death. “He has been working for the MLA for so many years and he could do no mistake with a gun as he used to handle it. He visited my house in Santoshnagar last Saturday and he looked dull. When I enquired about his dullness, he said some guy was behind him. Even on insistence, he did not disclose any details about his worry. There could be some foul play by his employer to eliminate him,” Rashida told media at the accident spot.

Central zone DCP Kamalasan Reddy was personally supervising the panchnama and the media was strictly prohibited from entering the MLA’s quarter in the complex. (NSS)
