Congress senior leader and former minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy has asked Governor ESL Narsimhan, who failed to protect the Constitution with regard to anti-defection law, to think whether he was justified in continuing in his position.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday, Shashidhar Reddy said the issue of Commercial Taxes Minister and Sanath Nagar MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who took oath as a minister before his resignation was accepted by the Speaker, has become a hot topic even in the national capital. He said the Governor is expected to ensure the constitutional bodies initiate action against Talasani.
He also urged the Speaker to reveal whether he received Talasani Srinivas Yadav’s resignation letter or not. “The entire Telangana people are looking at the Speaker whether he could accept the resignation of Talasani in case he received resignation letter”, he asserted.
Demanding that the GHMC commissioner to convene an all-party meeting on division of wards, the former minister said the division of wards was taking place in improper way. He opined that the division of wards have to take place on the basis of population and it was not proper to divide the divisions at their will. (NSS)
