Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao today said that newly built 120 MLA quarters on the premises of OLD MLA quarters will be inaugurated in February. He pulled up the officials and contractor for delay in the completion of the works.
The minister inspected the works of the new buildings along with Council Chairman Swamy Goud, Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhan Chary, Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Assembly secretary Narsimhacharyulu and officials. He directed the officials to take action against contractor for delay and speed up the works. The new buildings comprise of 120 MLA quarters, 120 servant quarters and 36 staff quarters.
The minister said that Rs 118.15 cr out of Rs 132.73 cr allotted were spent for completing the works out of 120 MLA quarters planned. However the works of only 70 were completed and some patch works of providing facilities like water, drainage, sewage, sanitary, window grills, toilets and others are remained. The rest of 50 buildings will be completed so as to inaugurate them in February, he said. (NSS)
