MLA calls for school bandh from Feb 15

Sangareddy, February 14: In a bid to gain edge over Telangana political JAC which has planned to launch non-cooperation movement from Feb 17, Sangareddy MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy on Sunday called upon students to boycott schools in his constituency from Feb 15 in support to the cause of separate Telangana.

He asked managements of all the 250 private and government schools to observe indefinite bandh from Feb 15.

Relay fast camps will be held at the schools and no student will be allowed to attend classes, he said. The MLA is at loggerheads with TJAC leaders in Medak district. He alleged that the TJAC was acting as an agent of the TRS and claimed that he was committed to Telangana.

He asked the TJAC to cooperate with his indefinite school bandh programme. Else, he said, people will consider it as an affiliated organisation of the TRS. “If JAC objects to the school bandh programme, it should never call for closure of educational isntitutions in future,” he demanded.

Reddy alleged that the TRS was neglecting Telangana martyrs. The MLA recently distributed Rs 1 lakh each to families of eight students who ended their lives for Telangana and Rs 25,000 each to families of freedom fighters who participated in 1969 Telangana movement.
