MK Meena reviews arrangements to monitor election expenditure

Mukesh Kumar Meena, Returning Officer, Hyderabad Parliamentary Constituency & Collector, Hyderabad District along with E. Sreedhar, Joint Collector, reviewed meeting with Assistant Expenditure Observer, Accounting, Video Servigilance / View committee duties on Tuesday at Collectorate conference hall and also appointment of Assistant Expenditure Observers for Hyderabad Parliamentary Constituency and with regard to 15 Assembly Constituencies of Hyderabad District.

Meena said that the appointed Assistant Expenditure Observers will work under the Returning Officer at Hyderabad Collectorate up till 30th April i.e., completion of Elections. He directed all the deputed officers to work efficiently and he also explained the type of works which will be taken up by them as per the directions of the Election Commission of India duly submitting the daily reports to the Returning Officers about the expenditure of the contesting candidates. As the nominations are scheduled to be held from 2nd April, the Returning Officer said that the Observers must furnish the details of expenditure report duly maintaining a separate register for each contesting candidate.

The Returning Officer said that the officials of Video Servigilance / View committees must record the proceedings of publicity and also filing of nominations must videograph and the same may be furnished to the Returning Officers to initiate necessary action. The officials of Account Committee should also furnish all the details of Accounts of the contesting candidates to the Returning Officer every day.

These officers should coordinate with the Assistant Expenditure Observers while furnishing daily reports to the Returning Officer. The Returning Officer further said that these teams have been formed to check the possibility of showing shortened expenditure by the contesting candidates. (INN)
