India women’s cricketer Mithali Raj played a match-winning knock against Ireland in which she made 51 runs off 56 balls and guided her team to 145-6 in their ICC Women’s World T20 Group B match.
The Indian spinners restricted Ireland to 93-8 from 20 overs. The Women in Blue reached the semifinal of the multi-nation tournament after beating Ireland.
Mithali Raj achieved some important feats as she became the highest run-scorer in T20Is among men’s cricketers surpassing New Zealand’s Martin Guptill (2271 runs). Mithali currently has scored 2283 runs for India in T20Is.
As she slammed the17th T20I fifty against Ireland she joined New Zealand’s Suze Bates, Australia’s Alyssa Healy and Pakistan’s Babar Azam in terms of the most 50-plus scores in a calendar year.
