Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Friday informed the Telangana Legislative Assembly that the works related to restoration of minor irrigation tanks are at various stages of execution.
Replying to a question raised by MLA N Bhaskar Rao and others during Question Hour, the minister informed that the budget provision for the year 2014-15 is Rs 2,016 crore. So far, the Administrative Approvals are given for 4,374 number of works costing around Rs 1484.88 crore under Mission Kakatiya. Of them, 3,105 tenders have been called and 1324 have been finalised. As many as 801 agreements have concluded as on February 28, 2015.
Of 46,531 minor irrigation tanks, as many as 9,651 tanks are proposed to be restored this year. They include 1188 in Karimnagar; 790 in Adilabad; 1173 in Warangal; 903 in Khammam; 651 in Nizamabad; 1947 in Medak; 570 in Ranga Reddy; 1477 in Mahabubnagar and 952 in Nalgonda districts. (INN)
