Legislative Council today took up a short discussion on the ongoing Mission Kakatiya project.
Commencing discussion on the project, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao informed the House that village tanks were being renovated under the project. He said the third phase of Mission Kakatiya works would begin soon and groundwater level in tanks was increased after taking up this project. He also said the Mission Kakatiya project was yielding good results and production has been increased in kharif season due to this project.
Harish Rao said Mission Kakatiya also helped irrigate about five lakh acres under Ayakut (land under chervulu). Information and details of tanks are available on online, the minister said, adding that the project is considered to be one of the best projects in the country. The government was committed to renovate all tanks (chervulu) in the State, the minister added. (NSS)
