Missing woman’s kin allege Delhi Crime Branch officer cites ‘bad horoscope’ obstructing probe

New Delhi: The family of a missing Air India manager has alleged that the Delhi police officer investigating the case is waiting for the ‘maha dosh’ in his horoscope to pass before initiating a probe. He has also reportedly asked for the missing employee’s horoscope alleging that it too has to be checked to ascertain for a similar “inauspicious phase.”

The woman identified as Sulakshna Narula went missing in September last year.

According to the Narula’s family, the police official claimed that there was maha-dosh (bad phase) in both the victim and his Kundli (horoscope) as well, due to which he was unable to find her.

The family added that officer told them that his “maha-dosh” would get over by the 18th-19th of this month adding that he also asked them to perform some “puja” to get rid of the dosh.

The Delhi Police, however, said: “It is the kin of the victim who wants the Crime Branch to seek the help of astrologers to investigate the matter,” sources in the Crime Branch told ANI.

The family further alleged that police has got no clue about Narula in the last six-seven months adding that they had even created an app to find Narula.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Crime Branch, Jasbir Singh, said: “Allegations of the family that efforts are not being made is incorrect. We have visited Mathura, Vrindavan, Haridwar and Rishikesh more than two times. We have informed shelter homes, along with the NGOs about the woman. All the standard operating procedures are being followed. We have also questioned the woman’s brother and her colleagues. The investigation is underway.”

The senior police official did not comment on the claims of the family about his officer consulting an astrologer to unearth the mystery.

However, he said the family can consult him or any other senior official if they aren’t satisfied with the probe.
