Hyderabad: It is not mandatory that a person should be allowed to vote at polling booth even if he has a voter id card. In order to cast vote, he should make sure that his name is listed in the electoral roll.
One can check his name in the electoral roll using “Missing Voters App”. He can also apply for the enrollment in the list on the app itself.
It may be mentioned that in the recently held TS Assembly Polls, many faced disappointment as they had returned homes without casting votes due to non-availability of their names in electoral rolls.
