Missing Ukrainian paraglider rescued

Palampur (HP), November 11: A Ukrainian paraglider, who had gone missing while flying five days back, was located and rescued today from the dense forests of Bundala, about 10 kms from here in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.

Egore (49) was located and later rescued by a private chopper from the forests situated at a height of over 8000 feet, Billing Paragliding Association President Suresh Thakur said.

The paraglider from Ukraine is out of danger, but has grown weak, he said, adding that the same chopper has taken him to Delhi.

The search operation by the hired seven-seater chopper from Delhi was hampered by snowfall at Dhauladhar ranges for the past two days but finally succeeded in locating the missing paraglider when the weather improved today, he said.
