Missing girls traced to Mumbai

The two schools girls, who went missing from Ramanthapur on Saturday, were traced to Mumbai on Sunday.

According to Uppal police, a team of police men left to Mumbai along with their parents of two 7th standard girls, Irfana Begum, 13 and Fatima Begum, 14, to Mumbai on Sunday, after receiving a call from them.

Irfana and Fatima are students of Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), who went missing on Saturday. The anxious parents, who realised that their daughters failed to return to their homes, approached the Uppal police station and registered a complaint.

To their surprise, they received a call from Mumbai on Sunday and informed about the same to police. The police which took up the issue sent a team to Mumbai, after tracing out location of phone, from which the girls had spoken.

Regular communication between the parents and girls has prompted the police to believe this as a case of joy ride of teenagers to Mumbai.

Uppal Inspector Y Narsimha Reddy described the reports of kidnap as premature, as the girls were in contact with their parents. “These girls have been to Mumbai earlier. It will be very premature to describe this as a case of kidnap. Our team is on its way, along with their parents”, he said. (INN)
