Muzaffarnagar: Body of a 26-year-old girl, who was reported missing, was found at Jhinjhana town in Shamli district here, police said.
Anjali, whose body was found yesterday, was allegedly strangulated to death on August 16 by her boyfriend over her refusal to marry him, they added.
The accused has been identified as one Rupesh Saini, they said.
The incident took place when Anjali refused to marry Saini and he abducted her from Chur village and took her to Jhinjhana town. He then along with his friends strangulated her to death and dumped the body there, police said.
A missing complaint was then filed with Meerut police.
Later, Saini surrendered in Meerut court?and police took him in custody remand, SHO Sardhana, Meher Singh said.
Saini yesterday identified Anjali’s body after he was taken at Jhinjhana town, he added.
