Missing family members found stacked, buried in the backyard

Idukki: The four members of a family that went missing four days back have been recently found buried in their backyard in Kerala’s Idukki district.

The bodies of the four members were reportedly found on Wednesday, stacked
atop each other with injury marks in their house’s backyard with loose soil that indicated have been recently unearthed to bury.

The deceased are identified as Krishnan (52), his wife Susheela (50), their daughter Arsha (21) and son Arjun (19).

According to the police the family lived in a secluded place at Mundanmudi and may have been murdered after July 29.

The neighbors and the relatives of the family alerted the police finding blood stains on the floor and walls.

“The father had a rubber plantation but also appeared to have practiced witchcraft. We still have not been able to find the cause and means of death.
We are probing all angles to the death, including witchcraft”, said police sources adding that a hammer and a knife have been recovered so far.

The police are now waiting for the postmortem report that would confirm the cause of death. But according to the Police, the wounds on the four bodies indicated that they have been tormented by something similar to a hammer.

The dead bodies have been shifted to Kottayam medical college for postmortem, police said.
