Melbourne, March 03: A Melbourne bus driver has been showered with glass after an object was thrown through his windscreen during a late night shift.
The bus was travelling on Warrigal Road in Malvern East, in the city’s east, about 9.15pm (AEDT) when an object hit the front windscreen.
The impact shattered the window and left the 40-year-old male driver with lacerations to his face.
The driver managed to control the bus and drove it to nearby Chadstone Shopping Centre, where he contacted police.
Police believe the missile, possibly a rock, was thrown from ground level as there was no overpass in the area.
The driver was examined at the shopping centre by paramedics but was not taken to hospital.
There were no passengers on the bus at the time.
Police are urging with information about the incident to contact Crimestoppers.
