A miracle alone can ensure Cong win in 2014: Jana

Congress senior leader and Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy has said that nothing short of a miracle could ensure victory for the Congress party in the 2014 elections. He, however, said that he was hoping that such a miracle would occur.

Talking to the media, he said K Kesava Rao would get one more term in the Rajya Sabha. Stating that every one in the Congress party was facing one problem or the other, Jana Reddy said he was confident that they would all overcome these personal hurdles and some how manage a victory for the party in 2014. He, however, said that achieving Telangana was his main aim.

Referring to the by-poll in Kollapur of Mahbubnagar district, he said that Congress had won there and it would mean that the Reddy sentiment won over the Telangana sentiment.

When asked about the Supreme Court’s notices to six ministers in Jagan assets case, Jana Reddy said that there was no need for the Opposition parties like the TDP to make so much noise about it. He said that only notices were given and their guilt was not proved. He felt that it would have been better if Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had offered an explanation on the issue. He said that it would be wise on the part of the Chief Minister to discuss with seniors when serious problems arose. He said that he should give an impression that it was all a collective affair and create confidence among the ministers. He also lamented that even the ministers were acting in their own separate ways. (NSS)
