Hyderabad, June 16: Mir Mohtesham Ali Khan, more popular as the Hyderabadi Arnold Schwarzenegger, is all set to fly to Miami to take part in the Mr Universe competition to be held from June 18-22. Mohtesham announced his participation to a gathering of newspersons in presence of Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav here on Monday. “I would be representing the country along with five more members from different parts of the country for the competition,” the Bronze medallist of Musclemania World Tour Competition said. Adding that he would be taking part in the heavyweight section of the competition, he informed that there would be stiff competition from the contestants from Pakistan, Columbia and UK. Mohtesham told reporters that he was confident of bringing accolades to the country.
“There are no winners in this competition from our country in the last 20 years and I would like to end the drought,” said the six-footer.
When asked about his protein supplements, Mohtesham said that he doesn’t indulge in any sort of steroids but follows a heavy diet comprising one kilo of chicken, plenty of boiled eggs, oranges and oatmeal.
Speaking on the occasion, Anjan Kumar Yadav said that he had given a cash purse of Rs 1 lakh to the body builder.
“I have already urged both the State and Central governments for sanction of funds for Mohtesham’s own gym and training centre. I hope that the money would be released soon,” Anjan Kumar said. He wished the bodybuilder success in the Mr Universe contest and hope that Mir would qualify in the Body Building Olympiad.
