Minority welfare minister halted lease on waqf building

Hyderabad, January 29: Minority Welfare Minister Syed Mohammad Ahmedullah halted the decision of giving a building on lease by the waqf board in Abids. He issued stay order on the file of the decision taken by waqf board in this connection and directed to issue show cause notice to the board.

It must be recalled that nearly 400 sqyd land at Kattalmandi Abids, had been allotted by the waqf board on a paltry rent. A complaint had been lodged with the minority welfare department in this connection on which secretary minority welfare Dr. Mohammad Ali Rafath issued memo to the waqf board seeking concerned file. A report has been prepared on the file on the basis of which minority welfare minister halted the lease.

It is said that an applicant had offered 2 lakh non refundable deposit and 15000 rupees monthly rent but the board gave the property on lease to the person who offered 15000 nonrefundable deposit and Rs 4000 monthly rent.
