Minority welfare fund not issued yet

Hyderabad, March 30: The Andhra Pradesh state government’s claims of sympathy towards minorities and its announcement of increase in minority budget are going to be proved futile as the funds for Minority Welfare department for the year 2010-11 have not been totally issued till now consequently the budget is feared to be wasted.

The final ¼ installment of the budget allocated to Minority Welfare department is yet to be paid by the government. Though it was announced by the Principal Secretary Minority welfare department Mr. Lingaraj Panigarhi that all possible measures would be taken up by the government to issue budget but now that there are only two days left for the current financial year 2010-11 to conclude, there is no likelihood of the budget to be issued.

It is said that the top officials of the minority welfare department have made it clear that there is no likelihood of issuance of the final installment.

The dilly dallying attitude of the government in this connection signifies that the government is waiting for the conclusion of the year 2010-11 so that the budget gets wasted and the government is prevented from issuing the budget.

The indifference of Minority Welfare minister in this matter will deprive Minority Welfare department of nearly 15 to 20 crore rupees.
