Minority students meet ZAK; urge to make representation for permission to write Group exams in Urdu

Hyderabad: There is long-pending demand of minority students for permission to write Group exams of Telangana Public Service Commission in Urdu. A large number of minority students preparing for Group I and Group II exams called on Siasat editor Mr. Zahid Ali Khan and requested to make representation with the government in this regard.

The students told that Public Service Commission has issued the notification for Group I and Group II exams and they will be conducted in the month of November. Thanks to 4 pc reservation for Muslims, minority students are sure to grab some jobs. If students are permitted to write the exams in Urdu it would help them in getting appointed for the posts.

Government has permitted to write the exam only in Telugu and English despite Urdu being the 2nd official language. Urdu language has played a key role in formation of Telangana State. If Telangana Public Service Commission provides papers in Urdu it will give justice to minorities and minority youth can get employment.

It must be noted Minority Welfare Department in its recent review meeting has decided to make representation with the government in this connection. Minority Welfare Department will send the related file to Chief Minister. If Chief Minister approves the file it would benefit thousands of candidates. Chief Minister is a great admirer of Urdu language and claims to be doing justice towards Urdu. This is the right time that he proves his fondness for Urdu language.
