The release of amounts towards scholarships and fee-reimbursement to minority students for academic year 2012-13 will begin within two days. Social Welfare Department is all set to distribute amounts to students and it is likely that transfer of funds to students’ bank accounts will begin within 24 hours. Both the schemes are being implemented by Social Welfare Department. However from next academic year Minority Welfare Commissionerate will implement scholarship and fee-reimbursement scheme.
Principal Secretary Social Welfare J Raymond Peter directed the officials to give top priority to release of amounts towards scholarships and fee-reimbursement to minority students. Since students are facing a lot of problems due to delay in release of amount. The transfer of amount is likely to be completed within one week.
