Hyderabad, September 14: Subsequent to the revelation of cheating on the part of the private institutions for obtaining scholarships, AP Minority Finance Corporation started inquiry reviewing the scholarships issued to the schools and number of students, and sent notices to 196 schools in which school administrations were warned of severe consequences for obtaining extra cheques and threatened legal action against them.
It must be known that recently ‘Siasat Daily’ had brought to light the fact that some school administrations were receiving cheque more than the number of students and were busy cashing those cheque plotting with the bank officials. According to the corporation sources, corporation has till now identified several schools in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad who were involved in corruption. It is informed that strict action will be taken against those school administrations who were involved in corruption and cheating after counseling with the District Collector and Education Department. Corporation has given a chance to the school authorities by issuing notice to them so that they would return extra cheques or the cheque not handed over to the students. Following the notices issued by the corporation the school administrations who had kept the cheques in their possession for some reasons have begun returning cheques to the corporation.
According to the reliable sources more than 100 schools had gathered money by the corporation by collecting extra cheques on fake names. Most of these schools are situated at the old city of Hyderabad. It is informed that serious counseling is on among the concerned departments to cancel the affiliation of the schools which were involved in corruption.
Managing Director and Vice Chair person AP Minority Finance Corporation, Dr. Mohammd Ilyas Razvi told that corporation would not only take action against those school administrations who had collected cheques by using fake names but also against those who had not handed over the scholarship cheques to the students. He told the corporation was collecting details of the previous years to check whether the students had received the scholarships or not. He warned clearly that strict action would be taken as per the law against authorities and school administrations who would be found guilty.
