Minority predominant areas reeling under frequent power cuts

Most of the minority predominant areas of twin cities Hyderabad and Secunderabad are reeling under frequent power cuts. Although elected public representatives, government authorities and officials of electricity department had claimed that uninterrupted power supply will be ensured from evening 6 pm to morning 6 am and power supply will be made available at any cost at the time of Sahr and Iftar but for the past two days power disruption at the time of Sahr and Iftar has become a routine.

At many places people complained that electricity is being disconnected right before the time of Iftar and is being continued for half an hour. However electricity department official has to say this is due to excess load on the transformer when all the lights are switched on at that time. According to him this is the time when the additional decorative lights are switched on. Hence the excess load on the transformer causes power disruption.
