Minority Colleges seem to pay no heed to government instructions. Ignoring the instructions of Minority Welfare Department, the colleges are refusing to issue certificates to thousands of students. It must be noted that the government has not released nearly 50 percent of arrears of fee reimbursement for the year 2013-14 and 2014-15, as a result the college administrators have refused to issue certificates to students who studied professional courses.
Last week Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel had issued notice warning the colleges that action will be taken against them if they don’t issue certificates. The notice issued through the District Minority Welfare Officers stated that the government would soon pay the arrears of fee-reimbursement hence the colleges have not right to withhold the certificates.
On the other hand college administration say that they will issue certificates if the students pay the academic fee and they are ready to pay back the amount to the students after they get the money from the government.
