Minorities Welfare Minister, Mr. Ahmedullah is unaware of many wakf properties

(Siasat News)Mr. Mohammed Ahmedullah, Minister of Minorities Welfare and Maulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani , Chairman of A.P. State Wakf Board did not know anything about many wakf properties including many mosques. They don’t even know that the entries made in the wakf register about the Eidgah properties are wrong. Mr. Ahmedullah had visited Eidgah Meer Alam along with Maulana Syed Ghulam AFzal Biyabani for reviewing the arrangements in connection with Idul Fitre festival.

After inspecting the Eidgah, he talked to the Govt. officials along with the Chairman of Wakf Board in the presence of media men.

On putting questions by Staff Reporter of Siasat, Mr. Ahmedullah gets surprised and the situation of Maulana Afzal Biyabani was also not different from him.

In connection with the arrangements, he told that cleaning of the area is in progress for the past 15 days. Garbage is being dumped behind eidgah. When it was pointed out by Staff Reporter of Siasat, Mr. Ahmedullah instructed the municipal officers present there to remove garbage.

On reminding the promise made last year by the Dept. of Minorities Welfare about the construction of Eidgah Gate, the minister told that his attention has been drawn toward it. He promised that it will be constructed next year.

Staff Reporter of Siasat told that the Minister for Minorities Welfare that in the wakf registers, the land belonging to eidgah has been shown as 11,100 square yards whereas eidgah occupies many thousands of acres of land. He asked the Chairman, Wakf Board for entering less area of Eidgah in the Govt. Gazette. Both of them couldn’t give any explanation for this. They started staring at each other.

The Minister asked his Secretary to note down this point specifically. Staff Reporter of Siasat told the Minister that Nehru Zoological Park occupies an area of 380 acres, which includes 60 acres of Wakf land. The reporter asked the Minister what action the Wakf Board is taking in this regard. The Minister pleaded ignorance in the matter. Chairman of Wakf Board admitted that 60 acres of the zoo is a Wakf land. When the reporter asked about the uninhabited mosque situated in the zoo, both of them pleaded ignorance.

When the reporter of Siasat pointed out that Shahi Masjid of Public Garden is spread over an area of 14,000 square yards but only 10,000 square yards is show in the records of Wakf Board. What happened to the remaining 4,000 square yards of land? They had no reply.

During Minister’s inspection, Mr. Dana Kishore, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Mr. N.Ravi Kumar, Zonal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad,
Mr. Rammohan, Asst. Commisioner of Police, South Zone, Mr. G.S.Panda Das, Director of Water Works, Ms. Vijayalakshmi, Dy. Commissioner, GHMC and others were present.

Small Minarets have been erected in the Eidgah this time. A sum of Rs. 2.80 lakh has been sanctioned for repair works.

Director of Water Works Department told that 8 water tankers would be available for the supply of drinking water to the public. Officials of electricity told that a separate 160 KV transformer would be set up exclusively for Eidgah. For emergency, a generator is also kept ready.

Idul Fitr prayer will start at 10 am Maulana Abdullah Quraishi will lead the prayer. Maulana Jaffar Pasha and Maulana Saifullah will address the gathering before the Eid prayer.
