Hyderabad: Minorities’ Residential Schools will reopen today. Last year, 71 residential schools were started. This year, 71 more schools have been opened. In 12 residential junior colleges also the academic year will start today.
Mr. Shafiullah, Secretary, Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society told in a press conference held yesterday that in all the 142 residential schools, basic infrastructure has been provided and academic year will start today. In the 71 schools started last year, class 8th has been added whereas, in the newly established 71 schools, education is being imparted in V, VI and VII classes.
Giving the details, he said that in Telangana State, 50 more schools will be opened on 19th June. In these schools, admission process has been completed. He said that the strength of the students in these schools has crossed 38000. After the opening of 50 more schools, the strength would be around 1 lakh.
He stated that 12 residential schools and 2 junior colleges which were administered by the Dept. of Social Welfare have now been taken over by Telangana Minorities Educational Institutions Society.
About the recruitment of teachers, Mr. Shafiullah told that they have been appointed on contract basis. After the issue of notification, permanent staff would be recruited through TSPSC.
