Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana made an attempt to eradicate educational backwardness of Muslims by starting 71 residential schools but the narrow minded Principals of some of the schools are making attempts to impose the culture of a specific religion. Govt. promised that morals and Deeniyath would be offered in Minorities Residential Schools but in some of the schools, students are being forced to recite “Vande Mataram” which is un-Islamic.
The parents of the students of Narsapoor residential school in Medak district made a complaint to the higher officials but it is regrettable that no action was taken. The society constituted to manage these residential schools consists of retired officials and representatives of voluntary organizations who have no interest with the educational problems. These retired officials have taken cars on rental basis and they are using these vehicles for their personal works showing them as official tours of the schools. These officials are getting huge salaries. Finance Department had recently issued orders against the reappointment of retired officials but this rule was violated while appointing non-Minority Principals and Teachers. It is reported that the teachers are forcing the students to recite Saraswati Vandana. Many students just continued their education.
The teachers told that no one can take any action against them. It seems that they are bent up on defeating the Govt. scheme. Govt. should have appointed Principals and teachers from among the members of Minority communities so that they could concentrate on teaching, morals and Deenith.
Mr. A.K. Khan, IPS, DGP of ACB who is also the Vice President of Minorities Residential Schools Society should pay attention to this issue.
