Hyderabad: Department of Minorities Welfare selected 250 candidates for the award of overseas scholarships.
According to the details, 612 applications were received out of which 428 candidates were found eligible. On the basis of merit, 250 candidates have been selected.
On the complaint that the first installment was not paid to the candidates already selected last year, the Director explained that due to non-submission of certificates on time, this delay was caused. He mentioned that certain candidates enter the name of a certain university but later they seek admission to other universities which causes complications.
Mr. Shahnawaz Qasim, Director of Minorities Welfare told that as soon as the budget is released by the Govt., the second installment will be paid to the students.
