Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Special Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare issued GO.Rt.51 yesterday forming 11 member committee for the implementation of Minorities Mass Marriages. It consist of Mr. Altab Mohammed Khan, Joint Secretary, APCC, Mr. Zafar Javeed, Chairman Federation of AP Minority Educational Institutions, Father Bala (Prakasham), Mr. Shaik Muqtar Ahmed, Mr. Raza Husain Azad, Advisor, AP State Shia Political Leaders’ Conference, Mr. Habeeb Zainul Abedeen Abed, Mr. Shaik Abdul Osman (Guntur), Mr. Mohammed Pasha (Kurnool), Mr. Meer Husain (Vijaywada) and Mr. Shaik Ahmed Zia (Nizamabad).
Mr. Shaik Mohammed Iqbal, IPS, Commissioner of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare will be the Convener of the committee. It may be noted that Govt. of A.P. has increased the amount of grant to be given for marriages. This committee will ensure implementation of Mass Marriages Scheme for the destitute girls belonging to Minorities in the State.
