A delegation of eminent Minorities leaders from different fields, senior Congress leaders, social workers, retired officials and IT Professionals today called on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at Camp Office and thanked him for substantial increase in the Budget allocation for Minorities Welfare from Rs 488 crores to Rs 1027 crores.
The delegation comprising Abid Rasool Khan, PCC general secretary, Mastan Vali, M.L.A., Sultan Ahmed, former M.L.C., Zafar Javid, Vice Chairman, Sultan Uloom Education Society & Secretary APCC,. Justice E Ismail, former Member Human Rights Commission, Anwar Ali Khan, president, All India Small Newspapers Association, Sardar Surjeeth Singh, PCC secretary, Javid Sikander, M.P.N.H. president, Mohd Quddus, General Secretary, MPNH, Siddiqua Sultana, Women Head, MPNH, Raza Hussain Azad, Secretary, A.P.C.C, and others.
The delegation also expressed their appreciation for increased allocation for education, margin money loans, mass marriages and so on. The Chief Minister desired that a meeting with eminent Muslims from different fields be convened so that a wider discussion can take place and the modalities and priorities for proper implementation of the budget allocation.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation that his government was aware that more should be done for the welfare of minorities, especially in the field of education, housing and so on and assured the community that he would earnestly take them up.
