Minorities Commission is competent to review welfare schemes-Abid Rasool Khan

Chairman of A.P. State Minorities Commission, Mr. Abid Rasool Khan told that the Minorities Commission is competent to convene a review meeting to know the implementation of welfare schemes of the Govt. meant for minorities. He was clarifying his position that he has no differences with the Minister of Minorities Welfare, Mr. Ahmed Ullah. He further told that Minorities Commission has the powers to conduct various programs, surveys and workshops so that Minorities could be aware of welfare schemes of the Govt. He further clarified that the Commission is empowered to take any step for the welfare of Minorities. He explained that the Minorities Commission has been established under the acts of Parliament and Assembly. It has the powers of Civil Court. He told that Commission had convened a workshop on 22nd July to take stock of the situation of reimbursement of College fees and Scholarships to the students. Various bank officials participated in the workshop and explain the procedure of the implementation of these schemes. The commission had already sought permission from State Election Commission for conducting this workshop. He informed that some officer could not attend this workshop due to their other engagements and they had already about this. He clarified that there is no truth in the rumors that Minister of Minorities Welfare had instructed the officials of Minorities Finance Corporation for not attending this workshop. He told that he has no difference with the Minister of Minorities Welfare and the officials of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare are cooperating with the Commission fully.
