State Minorities Commission Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has prepared the blueprint of ‘The Minorities, Dalits and other Marginalised Section (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 2015’. The draft prepared with hardwork of over one year will be released by the commission on November 13, so that public opinion is sought and shall be passed on to government with amendments.
This bill after government’s approval will pave way for prevention of atrocities against minorities. In India minorities especially Muslims are subject to various offences and harassment on several reasons especially on religious grounds. Keeping this in view the Minority Commission had announced to prepare the bill a year ago and according to sources the bill has been prepared which will be released today. According to sources the bill has the provision to book criminal case against officials harassing minorities. It aims at removing multifaceted harassments meted to the Muslims and to ensure their fundamental and socio-economic, political, and cultural rights.
