A panicky situation today prevailed in when a mob set afire the houses of the persons, accused of raping and killing a minor girl in Nawabganj area, about 60 kms from the district headquarters, of this Uttar Pradesh district. The 11-yr-old girl was raped and later murdered by some men yesterday. The irked mob today torched their houses to register their protest. Fire-fighters were pressed into service to put-off the blaze. Senior policemen rushed to the site and deployed additional force on the site. Police have arrested four accused and sent them to jail.
